Can you consider technology as a necessity
From the discovery of the wheel to computers and from mp3 players to the latest technologies like self-driving cars, countless technological innovations have shaped daily life and will continue to influence it in the future. There are various types of technology. Basic technologies , as the name implies, are the basis of our industry. They have not only been tested in theory and in the laboratory but have also been put to use for years.
Basic technologies include combustion engines, for example, as well as transistors and the power grid. Basic technologies are of utmost importance for industry and the economy.
Ideally, a new technology will at some point establish itself as a basic technology. Key technologies are the key to further development in a particular technology sector. Key technologies are a focus of scientific research.
They are studied enough to yield a practical application, but not to the point that all potential applications can be fully realized. Examples of key technologies include bioinformatics, image recognition and robotics, as well as solar power and hybrid technologies. Pacemaking technologies are technologies that are not yet ready for use but are more than just visions for the future.
They already have a practical application and can be developed further into key technologies. When technology progresses and makes our lives even more convenient, we must stress how beneficial it is to our lives. Imagine life without technology Right now, what kind of life have we? The development of new technologies helps to save lives; it improves work and makes the world better. In reality, technology has played a very important role in how we live in the world today and how we communicate in the atmosphere with everything around us.
Impact of technology is higher than that we expected. So we are developing new innovations to live in a better and standardized life. Some such technology helps some emerging countries to have a stronger infrastructure in place that also means better transportation, better schools, hospitals and other municipal services, and access to health care. Small and small businesses. We need to change our minds from wanting the newest thing all the time, to being ok with what we have.
I think it also stems from the corporations with policies like Planned obsolescence. Instead of them making something they know will only last a year or two, design more durable and reliable products that will be able to last longer, thus limiting the need for want. Nowadays, technology is a necessity to most of us. Individuals are so attached to the latest gadgets and the latest tools. Even though we can survive without these gadgets, we still tend to refer to them as a need.
I think this is due to the ads and the media today. We are so influenced and affected by the newest iphone6's and macs, that we feel it is obligatory to posses these gadgets. Therefore I agree with Fernando. Even though we do not NEED these gadgets, we tend to buy them. We want them, we are so attached to them.
This is the problem with society. We get what we want, and not what we need.
