Which squier is best
Exhead and allun13 like this. Pesky, This is great info that I hope people can search out and find when needed Thank you! Age: 52 14, AllroyPA , Sep 12, I have a few affinity bodies and apart from being thinner they are excellent, the wood is some of the best I have seen.
Better than the agathis of the standards. Having said that, most of mine are so maybe its not a representative sample Kyri , Sep 12, Brothawils likes this. Check this out, for an affinity! Beautiful Body The neck is satin and very smooth. The frets are very good and it stays in tune but I don't use the whammy bar. Pups sound fine thru my little practice amp.
The only fault is the narrow nut width. I'm ordering a Pearl White Deluxe soon and expect great things from it if my Affinity this good. K31Scout , Sep 12, TwoMartinMan , Sep 13, Are the necks on the SE as nice as the Bullets? Even with a mustang bridge, I have to be careful not to get aggressive with it.
Good value for the money, for sure, I enjoy playing it. But for a beginner? Why would the circuitry be an issue for beginners? Not sure I see why that would dictate how usable it would be in that context. OP is absolutely right.
My VM Jaguar was a hot mess right out of the box. It played like shit. And the neck needed to be shimmed to make it even playable. The pickups do not sound like classic Jag Pups, and they certainly share nothing i common with Antiquity Jag pickups.
After replacing the bridge, as well as all of the electronics and pickups Fralins cutting a new nut and dressing the frets, it plays and sounds fantastic now. But off the shelf, the Jag is a terrible choice for a beginner. Have you tried it? The Fender versions definitely sound and play significantly better.
Single vol. Tone control spot is output jack. Simplicity personified. Best design EVER! Avril fan or not, the wiring set-up is the key. S version, or MIM either. I had to open it up to fix the loose output jack, and discovered 4-conductor wiring with 2 wires connected with heat shrink tube. SC at bridge too trebly. Word around the campfire is that they are made by Tone Rider. I don't know if that makes a difference to anybody but they definitely rock. I'm a beginner but my teacher plugged this baby in and went to town on it. When he gave it back to me he said that I made a great choice and that the quality of the guitar is better than some other higher priced Strats. I only play it through a little Fender Mustang amp and I love it. I have one of these in Olympic White and it is very nice for what I paid for it.
I originally bought it for my son who now likes acoustics more so I have been toying with it. It plays very well frets are a bit rough but not bad. All in all for what I spent a pretty cool little piece of kit. DaddyRabbit , Jun 29, DaddyRabbit , Jun 30, Age: 61 Messages: 37, Of the current models, the Classic Vibe seems hard to beat - they punch well above their weight.
Squier Deluxe ' s are hidden gems not as common as CV's Don't see them for resale very often. The neck is amazing, satin finish with rolled edges just like the MIA' s They're definitely keepers, probably why you don't see them often.
Last edited: Jun 30, Messages: 4, I am pretty sure my Affinity is full sized. Tee H C , Jun 30, I believe Affinities were full size, but changed after that to the thinner body and nut. Thanks for that mate. Still learning. It probably is my Affinity I am playing on most the tracks because she is my work horse. I have a Mary Kaye Classic Vibe Strat but it sits in a gig bag most of the time, and when banging or creating an idea I usually am using the Affinity.
I have just measured up and i is indeed a slimmer body. Show's you how well I kno my guitars.
